    dos anyone in san francisco have a timing light i can use for a bit next week? thanks!

              what about an '87 325e?

              well you learn something new every day! i did not know that. very good to know. but what if your timing is off? and how does one correct the problem of a car running rich or lean? up until now i have never worked on any non carbed motors. im going to need to do some reading...

                if your timing is off, either your reference sensor is screwed up or your ECU isn't working right.

                  oh wow... I just assumed you weren't working on an e30

                  the timing isn't really measurable or adjustable on an m20, not like that anyway
