i think youre right. its always ran great except when i nail it and take it up to 5 or 6k it will just die like you turn the key off. this happens about 1/2 the time. then as soon as you let off it runs normal again.

Definite fuel supply issue. I had a clogged fuel filter and this was the exact problem. Your pump isn't able to supply fuel through whatever the impass is under high stress operation.

Check that your fuel pressure regulator doesn't have a torn diaphragm or something that would keep it open all the time, and make sure you can blow (with your mouth) through the fuel filter. If you can't force breath through it, that's the problem.
