    Does this sound right?

When i first got my car (91 318i) i was taking it out for a little test ride when my cousin said that the engine sounded strange. to be exact he said that it does not rev smoothly, so instread of a steady "vrooom" its more like "vromvromvromvrom". if you dont kno what the hell im taking about just take a look at the video. he said that his eclipse sounded the same and a mechanic said that it was his timing belt, he fixed the belt and the strange rev went away. i know the m20 has t-belt problems but the m42 is chain driven and the PO had the belts replaced, they are new but my cousin said they might be installed wrong. I would appreciate it if you guys took a look at the video and told me if it sounds right or what the problem might be. thankx in advance

If he graduated from a mechanic school, why'd he take his car to a mechanic?

Yea, he'd have no clue around big American iron like a BMW.
