i would go for it if she has taken good care of the car. other than the profile gasket and the timing chain tensoner the m42 is an extreemly reliable motor. also check out the link that someone else posted to bp's 318is site. one of the best 318is sites i've found on the net. check out his buyers guide it's pretty comprehnsive and if you printed it up and took it with you might even get you some price leverage. good luck
