okay so on a whim i test drove a 97 Z3 today, and i have to admit, i love it. it was fast, faster than my car, and just felt better in general. the problem is, i love my e30, and somehow feel a connection to it. but it was made abundantly clear to me yesterday, that my car is always broken in some way or another, sometimes to the point that i cant drive it. i know this is probably the wrong place to ask, but should i sell my e30 and get the Z3 that is already faster and more reliable, or should i just wallow in broken parts and trying to find a ride when my rides down?

You should get a clean e30 and start again. Your car does need quite a bit of work! ;)

+1, I'd stick with the e30 unless you can find a z3 coupe

keep the e30 and put a portion of the money youd make on payments into your e30 and fix it up. otherwise get a z3 coupe and start taking estrogen shots

Z3 coupes are ok, but like all other modern-ish cars I still prefer the feel of my old cars. Sounds like you got started off on the wrong foot with the E30.

I've personally had to work on enough convertible top issues on Z3's that I now avoid them like the plague.

I know a few guys who track their Z3 coupes and they swear by them. They love em and wouldnt trade them for anything else. But my E30 is still faster, cheaper, and more manly. (My opinion..) GL with the decision.

I always have a toss up in my head if I could have one car to drive all the time would it be an e30m3 or an mcoupe.

I relate with what your saying. Something is always going wrong and costing money. Last year I could have paid about 500/mo with what I spent on my cars fixing (upgrading) parts. Z3's are girly unless they are M coupes, then they are badass.

Buy the z3 and have someone else deliver it to you
