I recently went and bought an 86 Toyota Corolla coupe off CL for $265, I drove it home 60 miles (on one of my absolute favorite roads!).
It had a bent control arm, so going in a straight line the front tire was pouring smoke everywhere from the toe-out on one side. The suspension was blown, the window was missing, and it had no heater (in 40 degree weather).
when i was a kid my mom had a '89 olds cutlass, basically same car as the caddliac cinnamon. it too caught fire the console computer thing started smoking, but it didnt go into a blaze. which was a good thing as were many miles from home.

that is exactly what started the fire in my old POS
'06 nissan armada, its the biggest hunk of shit out there. it has a million and one blindspots. Shimmies like crazy on brandnew brakes, and I feel like a macho soccer mom whenever I drive it.
A 2009-2010(?) Chevy Cobalt I had as a rental car. This thing really was a piece of crap.
Issues with the car:
- No power locks or windows
- Interior was trashed
- My driver's side lock indicator/knob had broken off so they literally just screwed in a drywall screw to act as the lock indicator/knob used to lock/unlock it
- Rotors were warped at 28k miles
- Severe knock/clunk in the steering column and WAY too much play in the steering wheel
- Really bad vibration when braking, going at speed, and turning. This got worse and worse during the rental period
- It smelled like diapers and baby wipes
- Driver's side window seal wouldn't seal all the way so there was a nice bit of air getting in when driving
- Driver's side front wheel suspension clunked/popped when driving over anything that was the slightest bit unlevel.
- Trunk latch worked 66% of the time
- The rental company gave me the car WITH NO LICENSE PLATE. Oddly this turned out to be a non issue since apparently cops in Alabama don't care.
