So I recently got an M20 working in my 1974 bmw 2002. It idles well, but when I took it for a drive and it stutters/boggs down in the mid rpms of every gear except 1st. I can accelerate smoothly through 1st, but when I shift into second and try to accelerate through the gear it boggs down around 2200 RPMs. If I push the pedal all the way down it works its way through the stutter, but otherwise it just keeps bogging. I did a leak check using a home made smoke leak checker and found a couple little leaks which I fixed, but when I tried it again it did the same thing. I was wondering what the next thing to check would be? It's weird to me that it is fine in first, but subsequent gears all have thing bogging down. Any advice is appreciated.
