whats a goood rim/tire setup for the winter's here in the PNW?Comment

Does it even snow up there? We usually get an inch or so every couple of years. I'd just get a tire with good rain-channels. Do they still allow studs in WA? They're outlawing them this winter in OR.Originally posted by Kruzenwhats a goood rim/tire setup for the winter's here in the PNW?Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

Last winter, stock suspension/common sense/all-seasons w/good rain channels got me through the winter with ease.

Last year it snowed like hell here and radiators froze. It was cold in January. Last winter for me this year till moving to a temperate zone. DC gets snow but not like NE.
Who am I kidding they get maybe 18" a year less.Comment

this last winter it unleashed holy hell on us. we had like 6" and my neighboor totalled her mustang getting up our hill, my jetta didn't have the umph to get up our hill once it had gone down, took me an hour to get it up with some crafty driving.Originally posted by kencopperwheatDoes it even snow up there? Almost lost it in the snow last year. ES100's in snow are stupid. Got caught in a blizzard driving home from college though...
Anyways, anyone who actually GETS snow should check out the Group Buy for some excellent tires from Nokian...Reminiscing...Comment

you people dont know the meaning of snow. I go to school in the north country of New York, jsut above the Adirondacks. It snows here every other day I'd say, well at least last winter which was one of the worst Im told. I never once got stuck and neither did any of my friends, who dont drive SUV''s like I do. You just need to know how to drive in the winter. Hitting the brakes is your worst enemy. The only time I needed my 4x4 was to get out of snowbacks that maintenance plowed up next to my car when they plowed the parking lots. Just a little common sense and any car can make it through the winter, its just a totally different driving experienceComment

I just won't drive my car the one day of ice and the one day of snow we get. ;)The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment
