    Did you…

Did you have your car inspected before you bought it?

If not do you regret it?

I didn’t have my eta inspected before I bought it because it was such a good deal it wouldn’t have mattered if anything broke.

I didn't with my present E30. Did my own visual "once over" and a test drive at dusk so lighting wasn't all that good. It wasn't until the following day did I notice more of the cosmetic blemishes. Once behind the wheel it did drive very well and the engine pulled good despite the 209K miles on the clock. I bought it since I was desparate to get some wheels having totaled my previous E30 8 days prior.

Next time I won't be as hasty.

85 318i-($1500)Yes by a Friend dad he recomended me not buying it but I'm glad I did( he said that just becuase of the rust and the dirty interior)
        84-325e
84 325e Both free so who cared( parts cars anyways)
88 325is-$500 no need to be inspected for that price
84 318i-$400 I looked it over and buaght it
87 325is-$400 I looked it over and buaght it

the 85 318i was the most expensive and my first car, plus at the time I didn't know how to drive a manual so I had my Friends dad check it out.

I haven't regretted any of the purchased except for the 84 318i as I never got the title from the seller(make sure the seller has a copy first don't take any of that BS that they will get a copy and then mail it to you).

i had james crivellone come with me to look over the car before i bought it.

it has some cosmetic dings, but after giving it a good once-over, and driving it, taking it to redline, etc. we decided it was worth it. and i bought it on the spot.

i don't regret it at all, no major problems so far, just some bushings that need replacing.

My 323 was a lucky eBay deal.. and I didn't inspect it or have anyone inspect it before I purchased it. Drove down to Beaufort, picked it up and drove it back in one day. (7-8 hours each way)
I wish the previous owner had told me about the oil leak and the speedometer.. otherwise, everything was as advertised and I was very pleased :-)

i had mine inspected before i bought it.

paid 60 bucks and an hour of my time, and through what the mechanic told me was able to talk the buyer down by 700 bucks.......well worth it

make sure you go to a quality mechanic though.

My dad and our mechanic checked it out. The only person that didn't see my car was me :P

nope, my dad checked the car out and signed off on it (shadetree mechanic) and I bought it after looking at it. drove it 16 hours home without a problem, and have had to 'fix' anything yet *knocks on wood*

used to be a gas monkey when i bought mine so i took it to work (one of our mechanics was a bmw enthusiast with a nice 2002) for them to check it out with a hydraulic lift.
I retired my E30 for now...

No, i did not have my car inspected, and even though i spent multi thousand dollars just on getting the car back to my standards.... it was well worth the experience, but if i was going to buy another used car.... without a doubt i would get it inspected...

Gave mine the once-over and took 'er home the 6+ hours from Fairfax, VA.

Through the mountains, I might add. :)

I didn't have my first E30 inspected. I might this time depending on the price, condition, and distance of the car from me.

I didn't for my M3, just looked over every possible thing I could. I let the motor sit at idle for about 20min to make sure it had no cooling or idling issues.

For my friend's '87 IS, we flew to Atlanta and I looked it over, I gave my sign of approval to my friend. He paid cash and we drove it hard for the 8hr return home without a single problem.
