Hi there !
Since I bought my m20B25 '89 cab 4 Years ago, I never had time to work on my electric hood.
It never worked, and I didn`t even know where the problem was.
Everybody told me that any failure on that system mean the death of that funny but problematic extra, as it's so difficult and expensive to fix.
But this Year, after returning from the largest oltimer show in the World, Technoclassica 2009 in Essen (Germany) I got really impressed by the mint situation of the cars shown, and I took the decision to fix it.
With the online help through emails and pictures from the biggest "guru" of this problematic hoods from Germany, (I'm in Madrid -SPAIN) I achieved almost a total success:
Rising the Hood has do be done in two steps, as the rubber bands have to be replaced or fixed (hopefully as each band costs 150eur from the dealer)...That's my next Job !
This is the first step:
...and after having helped a bit with our hands:
Raising the hood works 100%:
I'm soooo happy !!!
