    Road Hazard - 1 | e36 - 0

On my way to school from an interview about 20 car length's behind a semi in the far right lane going about 60, bitch from the middle lane swoops over and cuts me off then taps her brakes like shes doing a brake check on me. I catch a glimpse at a large object and with no time to react hit it. The steering wheel violently jerked out of my hands and the car veered right (like a 90 degree turn at 45-50) across 2 merge lanes right towards the guard rail. Somehow I managed to get the car to steer left barely missing the guard rail then lost all steering control and slowly came to a stop while the car was starting to turn back towards the merge lanes. I then threw the car in revers to try and get out of the extremely busy road and back up off the object and ended up with about 2 ft of my car in the road with heavy fast moving traffic.

I flagged a Stockton PD officer down and he checked to make sure I was ok but then left shortly cause he had a bum in the back seat going ape shit. 5-10 min later a Highway Patrol rolls up and blocks cars from being able to hit my car. 45 min later the tow truck showed up and gave me a tow only about 10miles to my house ($185).

Got to my house and the tow truck guy was able to set my car down in the garage, so glad he could do this cause I have a steep driveway and no way of steering the car.

Jacked the car up and found:
    Broken front bumper
    A/C condensor is totally thrashed
Steering rack is in 2 halves
Steering linkage is all jammed up into the motor mount
Subframe and LCA are kinda beat up
Big nic out of the heat sink on the oil pan
Tie bar that goes across the tunnel is totally mangeled

I think something with the evap sytem got messed up too cause I left the garage shut for a few hours and it really smells like fuel in there now, but there isnt any leaking.

Im glad nobody was hurt or killed, the truck driver probly has no idea that thing fell off. The CHP officer said by looking at the skid marks she was amazed I didn't hit the guard rail or a merging car. The car is covered on liability but Im going to call tomorrow and see if Im covered for road hazard. Shit like this always seems to happen when Im about to sell a car, I was gonna go look at an e34 this weekend.

Damn that sucks. Sorry bro. Hopefully your insurance will have some sort of road hazard coverage but i doubt it. Its usually a lost cause if you hit something on the freeway.

              RIP

Yeah taken with my iPhone.. I should have cleaned the camera off before I took the shots cause its a night and day difference, these look all smudged.

                        haha. You bastard. You said:

"I get compliments all the time."

That's a shame though, I thought it looked cool.
