The tool, or lack-of tool, kit thread

Show us your toolkit! It could be full, it could be missing pieces, it could be a large toolkit, it could be from another model. I was just thinking of how cool it is that our car has these kits. I know many don't think they are useful, but I use mine all the time! (mostly for my screwdriver) Anyways show us your toolkit!

Now would probably be a good time to ask, In a picture of somebody's small toolkit, underneath the smallest wrench, I saw a little circular plastic washer of some kind. I have searched forever for it and cannot find that picture or thread. Anybody know? (no I am not talking about the emergency window tool for the 28, I mean literally UNDER the smallest wrench in that little circular hole)

    Here is my toolkit:

I have one wrench and it does not fit any of the cutouts.

At my parents house I have tons of the tools though. If you go to a pick and pull they will usually let you have the tools out of the kits. Either that or when I brought the tools up to the cashier they thought that I brought them in with me and that I was just retarded.

          Edit: wow, that sounds awkward

I've never gotten a straight answer, but can anyone clarify whether it is true that some E30s did not come with the emergency sunroof crank (S-shaped hex key) and the little plastic widget that's supposedly the emergency door window crank? For my 318is, the sunroof is manual anyway, and there are no provisions in my door cards for that manual crank adaptor, and so I think the tool kit for my particular car model never came with those two pieces.

It seems that some people like to deck out their tool kit's every slot with what's supposed to be in there, but I do believe that some cars came without some pieces from the factory. IMO, it is more authentic to be missing the correct pieces for your model.

What is the thin rod on the far right that's inside the spark plug wrench? Is that what's also supposedly in the standard tool kit?

You are right, certain models came with certain tools and missing others. I still like to have it complete though. The long thin thing is the emergency window rod that connects to the emergency window crank which only works on e28's
