bought a '91 318is yesterday.....new project car....

anyways i flew to LA yesterday morning abd drove this home: it needs a little work....but just small things. sorry for the big pics.



i might lower it next summer, im definetly going to paint it next summer, it needs alot of little things (shift knob is broken, sunroof crank...etc)
i might chip it, put a cold air, and a supersprint exaust on it but im not sure yet. i might just paint it and fix up the body.
.....any suggestions? anyone own a 318is with supersprint exaust? how do they sound? cause right now my muffler is blown out and it sounds almost like rice (hella embarasing).

Supersprint is pricey but I have heard that people like them. They wont offer a really deep or loud exhaust note. I am looking at Supersprint for my car as well. PM Mike318iC, he has a Supersprint on his M42.

yes it is the one from ebay.....it needs paint really bad...im gonna wait till after winter though. probabally gonna spray it myself, or at least do the prep work and have someone else paint it (i dont like the diamond schwartz, i like just plain schwartz). and i think im gonna lower it, the 15 inch rims made it higher. i dont know yet, who thinks i should lower it?
....do you guys know if i can get OE paint for the wheels? they are not bent so im gonna keep them but i want to paint them....they need it.

yes dan people are getting annoyed. If you want to get the paint, I can shoot it for you next year or whenever you are planning. The truck I sprayed turned out pretty good.

that said, nice car, the m42s seem to be everywhere now-a-days. Have fun with it.

Nevermind that now. As for the paint for the wheels, your best bet is Wurth wheel paint. Its a spray, but when done right gives amazing results.

John, I'd like to see your handywork with that truck. And yes, once I gather the parts, I will be repainting mine as well...just a lot of parts to gather though...

....ive seen this stuff on the bay. anyone ever used it? if so can you post pics that would be great. and on the diamond schwartz comment i made earlier...i geuss i just miss my baby '85 318i (i totaled it last week) it was just plain schwartz and it looked pretty darn sick for an '85. i wish my new car was THAT black: here it is:
