FINISHED with Ely's old 318i... check out pics!!!

After some hard (but fun) work, here is the finished product. If anyone could find Ely's original ad for this car that had pictures, please post the link so that everybody can check out before pictures.
Basically the car got a lot of hacking and welding, I have 16 X 7.5 TDM wheels w/ BMW roundels wrapped with new pirelli supersport Z-rated 205-50ZR-16's, TDM M3 replica spoiler, modified euro-style bumpers, ES front air dam with factory fogs, new plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap, rotor, belts, alternator bushings, brake pads, wheel cylinders, 12 button OBC, CHECK display, Kenwood CD, MB Quartz speakers, 15% window tint, and the whole thing shot with black paint (my first paint job).... EVERYTHING except the grill, painted flat black, new emblems, valve tappet clearance adjusted, new ICV, new synthetic diff fluid.

Wow, that looks absolutely sick. I love a good looking early e30. Looks like you've really kept yourself busy. Keep up the good work. :drink:

All that time effort and money on a early 318i. Why?

you should first ask that question to the hcick featured in bimmer magazine. She modified her 318 exterior with e30 m3 body panels and bumpers and still has the stock motor in it

i think he cleaned it up as a nice looking daily driver with really good gas mileage.

it deserves a M50 though, if someone else gets it.

Maybe it has to do with it being the lightest e30 chassis available in the US?

The only thing different ,except the engine, from your car is the suspension, which can be cheaply and easily swapped.

Besides, take an early 318, and mod it up ala trent and you have one hell of a car.

Jordan, I think your just nervous that you may have competion in e30 restoration master.

I think any e30 owner should respect all e30's, we shouldn't be so quick to judge we all own bmw's here - sure some are a big step in performance compared to others but come on, give us all time. Hell I'm gonna stick with my 325e auto, just cuz I'll worry about having a faster car when I have the money to do it right. I think the E is gonna be much more fun to drive then my current daily anyway. (97 Escort)

                    /stupid rant. I need sleep.

I do wish I had a 325i or is without diving boards, that was a 5spd, but thats not how it happened, some times more then others I wish it wasn't an eta auto, but I'm fine with my first e30 not being so great. Maybe I'll move up or completely transform it. Don't know yet.
