    Oooh, man's got a point.

Because I can at any time get my money back out of it.

      A 318i isnt worth anything.

Man, that is one hell of a transformation. How long have you owned that car for? I remember it before for sale, it seems like it was just earlier this year. Keep up the good work.

"Its only worth what the buyer thinks its worth......"

Cmon folks, common sense, were on here to have fun and mod away, but at the end of the day its still a 15+ year old car. Its pretty common knowledge that generally you MAY recoup a fraction of what you invest in these things, numbers dont lie.

Yes, but did either of you built the cars with the intention of turning around and selling it?

Closeups on the paintjob? I want to do my own paint too. Looks great! Can't say I like the wheels that much, but great job. Smoked taillights are a must...!

they're both modified old e30s, the fact one is a 318i and the other is a 325is matters little to someone who's buying a car like these.

True story, and an m20 E30 needs a motorswap just as bad as an m10 E30. Both are slow in a straightline.

Great job on the transformation.

Ya put an m20 in it and I dont see how it would be worth less than a 325i.

                        I like it.

                        Sold it.

buying an E30 in itself is a waste of money.

                          1) E30s, even the 4 bangers aren't all the gas efficient
                          2) They are expensive for such an old car
                          3) Parts are more expensive than domestic or Japanese imports
                          4) Labour is usually more expensive than domestics or Japanese imports

I don't think any one of us have the right to speak about using our money efficiently! Whatever we do to our cars, it's just not an investment, but all (or most) enjoy spending money on these cars, it's just the the level of 'money wastefulness' varies from one to another.

BTw, the 318 is looking sweet! Love the wheels!

                            1. bullshit, 30+mpg for the m42 guys, even more the for the m10 fellas
                            2. not really. E30 parts in general aren't any more expensive than any other cars.
                            3. see #2
                            4. thats why you work on your own shit.

its not difficult or expensive to make an e30 a practical (ie inexpensive) car. If you buy a negleted POS for $600 like most people do, yeah its gonna cost some money. but if you buy a well cared for car and stay on top of maintenance, they are fine, and inexpensive, e30 m3 not included

                              1. I've got way less into this car than your average dumbass driving his 93 Civic or Grand Am.
                              2. I enjoyed the work and did it all myself.
                              3. I look damn good driving it.
4.. I got parts through Bimmerparts.com cheaper than for a camaro at Autozone.
                              5. My car looks better than theirs.
                              6. I look damn good driving it.
                              7. My car gets 36 mpg highway and I have gotten 28.8 mpg in PURE CITY driving.
                              8. I look damn good driving it.

It's official he looks good driving his e30. :P

We put money into our cars to be different and enjoy driving them more, I think a few obstacles out of the way and our cars much more of the already great 80's engineering.

To each his own I suppose.
