go with 16's, and not 7's.

i know you've had to have seen some sick ass verts on here. e30's look amazing with a nice suspension/wheel set-up, shit look at namsayin's... crazy difference between stock and how his car looks now.

7" wide just doesn't cut it imo go with at least 7.5" up front and 9's in the back. don't be afraid of rolling the fenders and quarters

9s all around if you want a stretch
7.5s or 8s all around otherwise

ehh, i think staggered looks great... but if you want even all around then plan on either
                    1. rolling the fuck out of the fenders and/or
                    2. running spacers in the rear to match the poke in the quarters to match the front fenders

9's in the front is pretty wide. the back is definitely do-able, but it all depends if you want to remain stock looking on your body or cutting and rolling the edge's flush which entails a lot more work in general and inevitable paint and body work.

9s in front is doable with a good stretch and pull. But not everyone just wants to look cool. ;) Most E30s don't really need a staggered setup with the amount of power they have.

I'm not really sure where the "cool" part comes into play. But either way FWIW , depending on what your wheel set-up is, its possible to run staggered with the same width front and back with different offsets so...

How do you figure? I had 16x7.5 all around without rolling my fenders, I rubbed a little on hard cornering but that's it, and that was only in the rear on a late model. I would figure 16x8 or maybe even 16x8.5(might be a stretch) could be done with minor rolling if you had the right offset

His point was not everyone thinks stance is the most important thing, sometimes functionality should be considered too. Staggered widths and offsets don't make for the best performance.

Yeah, if you want to run stretch in the rear and none in front. Even then you're going to have different grip characteristics front and rear.
