    Woot, Evan hadn't seen your car before. Man she's really clean, and I see what you mean about that interior. It's awesome! I was planning on doing the same to my carpet, good to know it turned out for you. I'm looking forward to seeing the car come together.

      No updates really to speak of. I've got my Euro Bumps ready to go on and a bunch of other stuff that needs to be done. Unfortunatly, or fortunatly, I'm in the middle of a move (I now have my very own garage!) so things have to wait until I get settled in and set up. Since I have the space and my other car back up with me (my Mini Cooper-S was in Missouri), I hope to tackle the car with a vengance over the winter.
      Yep, I picked up 87e30's eta motor. It is the first step in another direction I'm going with the car, but that'll probably be a work in process for a while...

            c(a+b) = x

            a = eta
            b = 731 head
            c = spare time

            solve for x

              x = tons of fun.

              I hope there are other factors

                I'm on the look out for other goodies like the diff and cam, all in good time. My real focus with this car has become keeping it as stock/OEM (plus a little Alpina sprinkle) early-model as possable, but with some 'refinements' hidden in plain view. Thus, the 731 and eta intake combo as opposed to an 'i' upper end (which I already have).
                I'm getting ready to go back over to the Middle East sometime next year, so my halfway-plan at this point is to drive and enjoy the car as is until then, while collecting parts and building the motor, so I have something 'exciting' for when I come back home (in addition to my wife, if she's reading this).

                    I loved this car before it was even lowered. As you popped the trunk, pushed aside your rifle, and pulled out that volo lip, I surveyed it's glassy surfaces and those beautiful wheels and I knew this car was going places. Keep it up man. Someone's gotta gain the early models some respect (and it sure a he'll isn't me).

                      Sssh... nobody's supposed to know about the rifle. Well I guess the cat's out of the bag now. ;)

                      Thanks for the compliments though guys.

                        This is coming along very nicely! I can't wait to see the Euros on it.

                          Here's the car as she sits today, in her new home. The front Euro bumper is on and the rear is in progress. I also installed the Euro grills that I got from AC Nico.
                          She hasn't moved much in the last week or so since I have (finally) started the conversion. The NA-valence is just on there temporarily until I get the Euro valence perfect (I'm still dragging on this). Sorry for the crappy quality pic, I just snapped it on the way out this morning...

                              Here's a picture of the progress to date...

                              I got the rear bumper finished up today and I wired the front turn signals.
                              I managed to find a pair of round 3-pole lamp holders that were just about perfect in a box marked "Mercedes Electrical" in my Dad's garage, with a little modification and some simple adapters they work perfectly, and now my euro turns function as both turns and parks.
                              The B-caps are back on for the winter too...
