Never been a fan of Peugot. Not feelin that body style at all, but to each their own. I'm sure it's a pain to find parts for them state side as well.

yeah, parts can be a pain...if you don't have connections.
The lame Part is that parts cost more than bimmer parts (on the avg.).
But I like it, after all, I grew up with this car.

These are the last RWD Pugs, no? The 405 became FWD, right?

I like them - my mother had a 403 and my father had a 205 and a 306 way back in the days - and I was thinking seriously about buying a 205 GTI when I worked in Europe for a while. One of the few FWD cars that are fantastic fun to drive - along with the Lancia Fulvia.

Congrats on having such a cool and unique old car to play with. It's RWD, and it's manual - must be fun.

It doesn't look to be in that bad of shape...I say keep it and buy an e30. I've got both an e30 and e36, and lets just say, get the e30.

right on bro respect the peugeot! My first car was a clean bright red 89 405 Mi16 that i got for $600. it was a total money pit but i loved that damn car. For me it was a total pain in the ass to get parts, I mean I had to call this dude in texas who was one of the few remaining wholesalers of peugot parts in NA. That car had a pimp interior. The 505s are pretty smooth cruisers I rode in a friends tuned 505 sti it was pretty quick. I would compare those cars to the e28 5 series, they are very similar. Peugeot just couldnt hack it in the U.S. market too many french haters. I would totally rock a 206 or a 406 no doubt! They were rumored a few years ago to be attempting a NA comback but then the economy started sucking a dick.

just for fun i thought id post this pic of a 405mi16 btcc car:

thanks man. yeah, the 505 was the last REAL peugeot "IMO"
But they built (and still build) a Peugeot 405 in Iran, called the RD/Pars which is the EXACT blueprint of a 405, but is RWD. pretty cool in my opinion.

yeah, that's my first choice right now.
This car has a little bit of surface rust that has been bondoed in areas..so my dream would be to get it new bodyparts and a full sand/paint job.

awesome man! mi16's in red are the next best thing to a red 505 :).
By the way, may I ask, you have any pics/ or contact info on your friend with the tuned 505? they're so scarce that I might know your friend. haha. yeah, peugeot has been teasing their return for like 10 years now.
we were really close, till a few months ago, when the new ceo of peugeot (who expressed interest in returning) was fired...ironically, he was also talking about a rumor of the RWD peugeots...

there are some guys in america who've imported them, themselves, or people who bought Peugeot North America's test vehicles, dude a quick google search, you'll see that ALOT of newer peugeots have been popping up on the east coast.

and i do also agree, the e28 was a competitor for the 505 back in the day, same body style, FR, same market. just that the e28 was for richer folk. now its funny how some nice 505s are going for more than used e28's, which i find kinda stupid...

btw, napabavarian also has one, or more..

Just one for now, almost got a lot of 4 parts cars, I wouldn't mind having a wagon, but my diesel gets ~40mpg if I drive it like an old lady, my parts collection is growing...

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.
