look what my mom gave me!! what should i do with this bmw?

so my moms 93 325i was taken off the road about 5 years ago. its been sitting on a trailor in the back of the yard. i took the initiative the other day and took it off. she asked me what i planned on doing with it and pretty much if i wanted it i could have it. so this is what i know about it. its a 93 325i automatic. its got 188,000 miles on it. the body isn't terrible. the rockers were repaired becasue they were rusty but they're in primer right now. the interior is mint. i replaced the starter about 2 years ago. the car turns over but it won't start becasue when i did the starter the line to the fuel rail ripped so it leaks a little gas and its not getting enough to start. should be an easy fix. the reason the car was taken off the road was becasue the last six months is was being driven it somtimes wouldn't shirt out of second. it was being driven in the manuel mode. what should i do with this car?? it also has a nice set of 17" 5 spoke wheels. i'm pretty sure they're racing dynamics. heres some pics of it. its pretty dirty sicne it hasn't been washed for atleast 5 years.

part it out, swap motor in e30, be done.
OR if you dont have an e30, part it out, buy one, be done.

the only problem i have with that is my e30 has 70,000 miles on it and this motor has 188,000 miles on it. i just think it would be stupid unless i get the m50 rebuilt

Rebuilding the an M50 is ot the problem ...the headgsket is the weak link on the M50 family.

Plus having a 70k M20 is nothing to brag about ....if you are concerned with the miles then slap on a HG and seals and swap it.

i guess that will be my plan. my e30's an automatic so should i wait until i get a 5 speed tranny and all the parts to swap it and do it all at once?

My suggestion is part the E36 out and leave your car as-is for now.

My view on M50 swaps is they should not be done unless you need an engine because your M20 is blown, or your automatic transmission gives up the ghost.

EDIT: I did not see that you had an eta. In that case... a swap could make sense.

Get the hood all rusty, buy a roof rack and put stickers all over it.

Do some reading in the m50 swap thread. You do not have "everything" you need. You will still need a e34 m50 oil pan, pump, pickup, etc. Along with motor mounts, wiring harness adapter, etc. The swap is not hard, but do some research prior to making a decision on what to do.
