Those E30's can take a hit in the front, let me tell you! Looks about like my first one when I stuffed it, I suffered only a fractured sternum, but only because my seat belt failed to lock. Glad to hear you guys are OK.

And it's only a R3V if you do it while doing something stupid. You were more concerned with your family.

Sorry to have to do this to you, Levent, but your R3V is...

^^ Ouch, good to hear you're ok, it's sad to see the car go but it did a good job protecting you.

Now probably isn't the best time to point this out, but people don't exactly buy E30s for their safety level. There are about ten thousand different models of cars significantly more safe than an E30.
huh? he hit a concrete wall at 40mph nearly head on and walked away with minor injuries. how was it not safe?

Wow. Insensitive and incorrect all at the same time. I've seen some E30s take some wicked hits with the drivers come out ok.

To the OP, sorry to hear about the car. Sounds like you guys did make it to the ER ok, so I hope everything turns out ok there. Big time bummer about the car.

Wow it took 40 responseS for a part out? LOL. The car has a new full hr sport and billys along with bunch of other goodies. It will be parted and all parts on gutenparts.com shortly.

Have mixed feelings on being denied the r3v'd club. It may not be from being stupid but I feel stupid. Driving for 23 years should have known better.

Thanks again for all the well wishes and the humor living in the hospital for the last two days it's a great distraction. My wife has an obstruction caused by scar tissue due to a surgery she had 5 years ago. We've been through worse, hope to have her home soon.

I'd be curious to hear about the other 10k+ cars which are safer. As some of you know I have 3 daughters. I've always said their first cars through high school and colllege will be e30s. I think they are very safe, well balanced and at their price point nothing compares.

                        Thanks again
