Man, that seriously sucked. I opened the thread expecting to see some rammed US 528e or something. At least you found a replacement that appears to be just as nice. Those seats (can't tell if they are cardinalrot or crimsonrot) look very, very nice, were they redyed? Loving the 16" Style 5's and the euro bumpers too!



Side note: My brother is slowly, gradually piecing together the euro bumpers on his E28. If you have any undamaged random bits that are for sale, shoot me a PM

thanks.. the seats are cardinal... totally re-done M5 units. the 16s are getting the boot... 18" staggered style 5s FTW.
the rear bumper will likely get stashed away in case of an accident...

it was tough. luckily i had a friend with me who is extremely kind, and level-headed. she did all the talking. i walked away and started kicking things.

That sucks man, that car was beautiful. The replacement seems to be a keeper as well though.

Also, what headunit is that? Finding a non-cheesy headunit is damn near impossible and that one looks pretty subtle.

Wheee, I missed that part, didn't realize it was a 520i. I'm not familiar with E28 powerplants, was this the same choked M20 that was in the E30 320i? That should be a zinger, at least it looks the part.

it's a 535. (520 badge for sleeper status)

was originally a 533, but got a swap. i may keep the "dirty M30" from the black car, as a backup plan.

winter plans include a healthy turbo setup (and likely will keep the 520i badge)

Sorry if I missed it, but how much is the insurance check for? Unless you paid a ton for your car, you're getting fucked by the other guy's insurance. I got $5900 for my totally stock '85 535i in average condition, 200k+ miles. Your car should be WAY higher.

Either way, sorry to see that. Looks like it was a really nice car.
