    Tranny swapping.

This is what I did to my E30 in the past coupla weeks. I hope to never have to do a tranny swap ever again. Also, if a moderator reads this, I think this is proof enough I should at least be upgraded to wrencher at the very least.

If anyone has any questions about the auto-to-manual swap process please PM me. It can be frustrating at times, but definitely do-able.

looks good man. Did you take any pictures of the process? If so then go start yourself a project thread.

As for a wrencher tittle. Go post some in the general tech areas, and get your post count up. Please be a normal member here; not like the OT trolls we have running around.

Oh yeah! pictures of the rest of the car please!

The swap process has been pretty well documented on the "Yoshi's 5-speed swap" thread on E30tech.com. I just didn't want to beat a dead horse. I'd be happy to answer specific questions though. There was some shit I just had to figure out for myself: like getting the auto out, master cylinder orientation/clutch pedal installation, mating the manual to the engine (clutch alignment tool is your best friend), etc. Also, if you check my postings, none have been trolling/belligerent...

sounds like a lot of work - I remember as I helped a friend do it once. Would you do it again?

I would. I hate auto's. It would go a lot faster if I had to do it again. Changing a clutch should be a breeze after swapping a tranny.

I have done five auto to manual swaps in the last year or so, 5th one was done in about 6 hours.
