    Freshly Washed Lazur Blue 318iS

Hey everyone, I just thought I’d share a few recent pics of my E30 with you all. Since last time, I’ve installed a few things including a new stereo and Rob’s awesome leather e-brake boot and handle (I also have his shift boot but haven’t installed that yet – waiting on SSK).

I was planning on doing the suspension before the stereo but for various reasons, it has been put on hold until mid next year when I have more time on my hands – and around the same time as the suspension, I’ll also (hopefully) do a brake overhaul then too. As of now, I have a Z4 3.0 SSK and new OEM leather gearknob on order that should arrive in a couple of weeks. I’ve also got a new iS front lip and M-Tech II steering wheel that will be picked up soon.

Either way, for those interested, here is what I decided on for my stereo. (I wasn’t sure whether I’d post this here or in the ICE forum but since I haven’t taken any pics of the install yet – still adding finishing touches –, I thought I’d just post the info here). JVC KD-805 head unit , 5" JBL 2-way speakers (front), 6.5" Boston FS60 splits (rear), Boston 2-ch amp (rear splits)

I would have liked to have splits in the front too but I chose the setup I did because for one, I didn’t want the weight of a sub and so mounted some nice splits in the rear (for more bass – yes I know it doesn’t compare to a sub but I need my boot space and like having as little weight as possible).

Also, if I had decided to put splits in the front, I’d need an amp to run them properly (so I would have gone a 4-channel instead of 2-channel) but instead I chose to save the money for my suspension and brake upgrade next year. In the end, I'm quite happy as the sound is crisp and clear at well above the volume I'll be using it at and at the same time, hasn't cost me a fortune either - so I think it's a nice settup.

    Here are the pics guys.

I would love to hear any feedback you have.

    Thanks,

    Pete

Beautiful car! The only think I don't like is that plate filler that looks like the rest of the lights, but it's your car! :D

Thanks man, yeah the car actually came with the red plate filler when I bought it and I am thinking about buying a black one if the red doesn't grow on me but I'm just not sure ATM.

          Magnificent color... I love it.

Not feeling the red license plate filler though.

LOL, lazur blue is staying! As for the plate filler, yeah at this stage, I'm strongly leading towards it going!

It's on the to-do list. ATM though, there not doing any harm and there's a bit of road work going on around my town so they'll keep the rock chips off the paint!

I like the red licence plate filler, it suits the car. I think that if you paint the taillight red it would look even better.
Once you do that, and you have a licence plate on there, i think it will look great, but that's just me.

Yeah, I may try the red corners, not sure if its legal where Ilive at this stage though.

As for the plate, I just took it off for the pics to see how it looked without it and also because it's an old, faded and bent one that I'm planning on changing very soon.

Your sound stage has to be pathetic with that audio setup. 5" 2 ways in the front, and a pair of amplified 6.5" components in the rear? What were you thinking?

Anyways, the car looks gorgeous besides that. I think the red filler is tacky though, and would look even worse with red turn signals. I can't wait to see that car dropped though.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Maybe he's not a car audio whiz.

Yeah, and maybe he doesn't care.
