Im running a 3.25 with the E36 M3 tranny. That tach is somewhat deceptive since it only goes to 7000 and the engine revs to 7200. I was shifting at about 6300 and when I let off I was only in the low 5000s.

haha i can only imagine what people must think seeing that thing fly by them. aren't the cops really strict about the speed limits over there, though? my grandparents live in kansas city MO and they don't dare drive 2mph over the speed limit.

In Lawrence they are strict but that is because they know you dont live local and have no pull. I have a Passport though and Lawrence cops drive with their radar on all the time so you can tell whenever one is within a 3 block radius.

That street I drove down first and then hung a u-turn and that video was coming back.

Please report on here on the 3.46 after you get it. I have the 3.25 and I can get traction in second if I want to but if you hammerstand it its still wheelspin. I like the gear spacing though. I get a lot of people with E36 Ms bitching about the short first gear but I havent noticed and the E36s came with 2.93s. Also, you running the E36 M3 box?

Yes, I'm running the M3 gearbox... I have the 3.46, but wont get a chance to try it as winter has set in here and the car is put away. Blunt has tried just about every ratio, even the 2.93. He has 3.25 in his car right now and it seems ok, but just dosent have the spunk that the 3.73 has. I'm hoping the 3.46 is the happy medium. The 3.73 is ALOT of fun but its just too short for highway driving.

how is it to short? isnt the 5th gear ratio the same as the M20 trans.? I dont really know too much about the US M3 box just the 6 speed here, and the 6th is still the .81, same as the 260 getrag 5th.
