that gallery was the pictures i was talking about, it just seems like the "conventional rolling" is tucking in that inside lip to give yourself some tire clearence, and it seems like you guys completely extended the vertical lip into a horizontal lip which is not "conventional rolling" to 99% of the world, i dont care, in fact i think it's amazing and would love it on my car, but i can definately see why there is argument about it. still, amazing work
18x10 in the rear! Who said it can't be done!?

Mike, is that CC's M3? Who drove it?
The more I look at the red car, the more amazing it is. Does anybody know the spring rates he is running?Comment

Re: You're all missing the point.
Anyone have a location of where to rent one of these?Originally posted by mpowerjon18 x 10's was not that hard on the rear. It was putting the 18 x 10's on the front that posed the challenge to me.
here's some of the pics: http://davidmcintyre.org/gallery/vie...=AkardPrepared
You can see ME ROLLING the fenders. Akard wanted me to use heat but I insisted on NOT breaking the rules. For minor and moderate rolling, paint breakage is not an issue - IF you use the correct tools. A bat is not the correct tool. Try a professional roller and a heat gun. No, a hair dryer is not the correct tool. Mike's fenders took aggressive rolling. so we skimmed them with bondo and painted them while the rest of the car got shot.
The wheels in most of the pics are SSR GT1's .. but really they're just street wheels. SSR COMP H's are on there now.
UPDATE: Even Skafrog (weird name buddy) does not know, but the car is coming back to my shop this week and we will take the 285 - 30 - 18 tires off and put on 305 Pirelli slicks. We will be moving the car to BMW CCA CMOD class. The car will race at Roebling Road in two weeks.. like Dec 12th ish.
Have'nt you all noticed my Sig before? I've got 12" wide goodyear slicks F&R under the factory fenders.

I need to roll my fenders for my new wheels, and am very wary of the baseball bat method, so I'd like to do this properly.
-CharlieSwing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

Used a heat gun on it for a long time beforehand...Originally posted by MystikalLots and lots of heat is your friend.Originally posted by DigitalwaveIt doesn't take anything to fuck the paint on your fenders. I put a bat to Robby's and at the first little tug one of the sides cracked.Comment

Wheel well mods? Huh? Negative. I opened up the fender at the last few inches to allow really tight turns, but no changes to the footwell. the cage foot protection goes there anyway, and you don't want it any closer to the driver.Originally posted by E30-323tiBavarian3:
I'd like to see some pics of what mods you have done to the wheel well on the front (where the footwell is)
And, Are you using the Mcoupe front suspension also??
Mcoupe front suspension? Negative. It's my regular 5 Lug kit, BBK, and coilovers.
