My E30

[Aus E30]

This is my 1988 320i!
It's a 4 door sedan and has 100,000kms on the clock.
It's an Automatic, although its currently sitting in the driveway leaking after the trans blew on the way back from holiday drive(1000km trip) which sucks. $2500AUD for a scrapyard gearbox installed, or $3000AUD for a rebuild (Australian)

A 5spd swap can be done for 700-1000 US. How bad over there?

Depends on what bits you use. I've seen 318 5spds go for $300-$500 and a rebuilt, fully reconditioned close-ratio 260 out of a 325iS go for $1500. I'll have the complete drivetrain out of my '89 318i for sale really soon (engine, box, diff, tailshaft, clutch slave, etc). :)

Pedal boxes and all that shit shouldn't cost heaps, either. Not a huge market to keep these things on the roads over here.

Nice e30 mate, extremely low Km's for an australian E30. Mine had 165 when i bought it and i thought that was low hahah.
