Yesterday and today we made 2 trips to lowes carrying hundreds of pounds of tile for our bathroom renovations in our E34 and it was about 3 inches lower than stock and was tucking half the tire. :)

Bah!
That's an E34 (probably a touring, no?)
If you ask me, driving for 100+ miles with an M50 in your half-open trunk (it only settled at the end of the trip) then adding eight tires, four wheels, 50lb toolkit, 30lb jack plus a 200lb passenger (not pictured) is pretty hardcore :p
Then add the fact that I've got a horrible coolant leak and a blown head gasket (both fixed with swap... hopefully) and I'd say I'm doing pretty well ;)
I knew I would talk you into it!!! Need help let me know. :)
You did talk me into it (wasn't that hard really :p). I will definitely need help (never pulled a motor before) and I'll probably consult you about some more crap, what I'm most worried about so far is the brake booster and wiring.
Headers look great, BUT you need to take the header that mounts on the front of the motor. It has the longer down tube and remove about 2 inches from that tupe and then weld the flage back on. There wil give you a lot more room between the subframe to have a nice exhaust.
This was mine before cutting.
You can see you dont really have much room to have a nice flowing bend coming off that header.
Its not a big deal if your really not worried about it.
Now for the wiring.
Order these pieces from your local dealer.
12521707283 you only need one of these, cost is about 10-15 each.
12521707302 You only need one of these, cost is about 3-6 each.
61131376191 You need about 15 of these, cost is about 1.00 each.
61131376193 You need about 5 of these, cost is about 1.00 each.
Them numbers there are going to be what you want to make your adapter. What you do is cut the X20 plug off of the engine harness, wire in your pins and then plug them in to the c101 plug. No special tools needed other then a pair of wire strippers and a small pair of needle nose...
I have a list of what pins go where for my car. its an 87 325e. I can share my wiring with you. Fired up first time no problem, everything works perfect just like it should.
Just let me know.

Bumping this just to say thanks (Mike right?). The buddy who was doing the welding just had his girlfriend of 14 years try and off herself, so instead of pushing him to do more work, I took the manifolds back. I can always have the exhaust shop do that when they make the downpipes. Also, just a thought, but you have to plug one of the O2 bungs anyway, right? Why not just cut the entire O2 bung off and reweld the flange back on?
As far as wiring, I've got an 87 325i, I'm not sure what non-M20 specific wires I'd have that are different than yours. What were the pin assignments?
