    Finally got a 318iS

It has been mine for three weeks now, and even though she's not a looker... Well. She's not much else either.

For now. The car has done roughly 203 000kms and has been turbocharged since 2005. And yes, it needs a rebuild. I didn't get any history when I bought it, but it has some new cams, racing bits here and there etc. PO didnt know if it was chipped, and I didn't want to try to find the limiter, as the oil was litteraly pouring out. Had to refill every 90kms.

I have started taking bits and pieces off, pulling out the interior, and fixed some minor rust issues. Actually there was not as much rust as i was afraid it would be.

It hasn't got a sunroof, which I'm a bit bummed out about, but I'll survive whitout. The interior is mint. Really dirty, but in great condition.

    Why isn't it fixed yet?
I'm moving out in a week, I crashed my E39, my Mini didn't pass it's MOT, and currently I'm broke. But it's being taken care of.

I have loads of pictures, but Photobucket is slow, so just a few for now.

A bit of love will go a long way, but I will say it does look like europe's version of a clapped out 94 civic.

whats with all the noobs hating not having a sunroof ? non-sunroof cars are much more desirable.

Maybe desirable to you.. Majority of people on here don't track their cars so the majority of people would probably want a sunroof. Or at least that's what I think. I understand the benefits of a non sunroof car.. not arguing that at all..

First thing I did when I got it home was ripping of the sideskirts, the ugly front spoiler and the eyebrows.
And then I sold the wheels. My turbomanifold is cracked, and it was shitty anyway. Will post pix in a bit.
I did steam clean a bit yes. It's much better now.

                      That manifold looks scary.
Id check the turbo for damage from peices of that monstosity coming apart.
                      Its a starting point though.
Just change the parts to make it better and have fun with it.

That engine is expensive to rebuild. Are you staying with the DOHC 4-banger?

The turbo is in great condition. :)
Yes, I'm going to keep this engine for as long as it lasts. I will only fix whats necessary for now, and then run until something else breaks. Used M42's arent that expensive, so I wont put more in it that it's worth.

                            ..

Disregard that, I obviously will, but I will regret it when I live on the street whitout socks.

First on the agenda is a new manifold, pistonrings, a oil catchtank, and a thermostat. But I expect to find some nasty suprises when I'm taking the engine apart, so the list will be alot longer.

And I'm going for BBS LM reps, IS lip front, maybe smoked hellas, red tint on taillights with smoked reverse....

But it has to run first.

Yes, the interior is tits, but I'm going to get some sport seats. With the same look, of course.

Speak for yourself. I had an m50 swapped e30 I bought once... it was the most fun e30 I ever had - but I sold it. One of the top 3 reasons was I absolutely could not stand DD'ing the thing without a sunroof.

                              non-sunroof e30's ftl. yea, I said it.
