well I washed the car last night and got it squeaky clean, went to college the next day I only had 1 class for an hour, I parked next to a silver scion with chrome tail lights, I went to class came back to see a silver hillbilly SUV parked next to me, thought nothing of it and went home, when I got out of the car and looked at the passenger side(where the scion and the suv were parked) Inoticed it was missing a chunk of paint, about 2 inches long, it was all the way into the metal and a big dent around it. I've touched it up but its super noticeable in real life:( it looks like it was semi on purpose because of the length and deepness of it. for some of you its no big deal but I had this car almost completely dent less:(
Anyone know how much it costs to get a dent removed and then that area repainted smooth?

touch up paint did a good job on matching the color but the dent it pretty big and what you can't really see in the pic is that it goes down pretty far.

I could care less about orange peel, the only body shop near by is maaco:( I'm going to try the heat up and then freeze method but with my past experiences that doesn't work too well:( For how high up the dent is do you think it was the scion or the SUV?

People are fucking stupid and need to learn not to fling open their doors in a parking lot...at least have some respect of someone else's property.

My e30 had a few dings/dents when bought it a couple years ago from the previous owner, but after parking it in the tight spots of my university parking lot for a year it has about 8 more. :( Ka-ching!

I had 32 door dings after 2 years of driving to high school(and that was with parking far away), I thought all the morons would be gone by college but I guess not. I took all year off last semester and didn't even get a scratch or even rock chips. 2-3 weeks into college and now this:(

Two words. Defensive parking. NOW, I realize that's difficult on a crowded college campus, but it is possible, you just have to hike.

Oh yeah and why would you ever park next to a Scion with chrome tail lights! :( I'm sorry for your lose though, people really are stupid. If you find out who it was, "Here's your sign."

If I find them I'll make sure something happens.I've had door dings before but never through the paint, the door probably had 3 coats of paint on it and even the metal behind it was chewed up
