    New guy new car 318is

Hello all! My name is Frank and I just purchased a '91 318is as my new project. I got tired of building Hondas my last car being a S2000 with 550whp turbo. Now I venture into this little fun car. Hope to learn alot from you guys 8)

wow nice 318is and awesome S2000. But what's with the little piddly-fart exhaust tip on the 318is? looks like someone swapped the muffler.

But do to that E30 what you did to the S2000, and document it on this forum!!

Dear lord, that S2K is unreal. Judging by that the e30 is gonna be a monster. Can't wait for progress.

I'm researching BMW motors but they don't look like what I want so far. Trying to make more than what the s made. I feel like Im drivin a camry now I need more powaaa. I kinda like the ls1 swap but I'll go alittle bigger with a lsx build.

A turbo S38 is what you need. The LSx swap Is cool as fuck. There are a lot of haters that are gonna say dumb shit about an LSx swap.

^ What he said. S38 if you want to stay loyal to BMW and please all the purists, or an LS, which IMO is less "cool" simply because people put those in everything, but functionally will kick some ass. I think you're out of realistic M50 turbo territory (I haven't seen any above 350whp), but an M50NV or M52 turbo can get some good power. You can boost an M30 for some pretty serious numbers (400whp+) or try a boosted S52 (similar power, 400-500, there's a guy with 700whp boosted S52 who retrofitted a C4 vette rear suspension and pumpkin in an E30) but the S38 has been known to hold up to retarded power. They're also very expensive and maintenance is $$$$.

What car does that s38 come in? For the record that s2k motor was stock on those numbers. The f20c has been taking to 700 whp stock. There so well built

Cool factor = STi drivetrain into the 318 w/ AWD. Build the block, and install big turbo.
