Lol! Ya no I'm no noob I'm a car guy in and out. I've built three turbo hondas a ek hatch ls making 280whp and a prelude h22a making 340whp. I also tryed American muscle with a 97 ws6 trans am but I hated that shit. This is my first german car and so far it's cool. Minus the water leak and no ac but that will be fixed soon. I've been looking for those m3 fenders everywhere! I love that look anyone make them? I would love to make my first track car for the cones.

Welcome. Looked like ap1. A friend of mine from work makes the h2b kits, maybe you even used it in one of your cars lol.

Anyway, you can also make HUGE hp boosting a 3.5L M30. The m3 fenders you can still buy, but the rears aren't bolt on... look into M-tech 2 stuff.

If you want to do autox or track racing (read: not drag) you might not wanna boost it.... S50 or S52 and call it.

M47 crank with s50 pistons and rods I believe makes a 2.1 liter.

                    Well I figured you were wanting drag.... S52 if you can find one / swing it. S50 is more common. S50 = 95 M3 OBD1. S52 = 97-99 M3 OBD2 (general gist. The M coupes had S52s too)

if you want it for the cones and autox and track, I'd leave the m42 in it and do up the suspension and get some experience before throwing in a bigger motor. Not saying I wouldn't build it, but it'd be a lot easier to tune suspension as well as learn with an m42 as a starting point.

Well, suspension / wheels and tire package + turning goodies are a given before more power..... I'm suffering along on the M20, but I only have 2 more suspension goodies I wanna install (aftermarket) before I can think motor time.... That's not including the maintenance stuff being replaced with better items like bushings.

so far thats the plan. I had the koni/GC setup on my S and loved it I noticed they make it for this car also. How do you guys like it?? any other systems that compare out there not costing a left nut? And as far as wheels. I leaning to 16's something nice with a fat lip for DD dutys. When tracked "if I go that route" some lightweights maybe 15's

I have the custom e30 valved GC coilovers w/ Konis. LOVE it. /suspension

EDIT: Ignore sig for you're opinion on ride height etc.... Things have changed, but I'm lazy and the weather has been bad, hence no pics. And I don't photoshop for shit, so I'll have to ask for a new sig post-pics.

                              lmao at SUV status

Ya I loved it on the S also. Im going to call GC to see what they recomend on spring rates for a little heavier motor setup on my car.

I don't really get it though, the rear hasn't been adjust since that pic, and the front only brought down maybe a half inch at the MOST.... Turned the wheel for the pic and it raised it up. Granted..... I can go lower, and I might, but Colorado has bumps and potholes and shit, plus I live at the resorts during the winter, so my car needs to be somewhat winter friendly. Sits well right now I think. I'll have to get pics up like tomorrow.
