Canyon looks good. Did you make it up to the falls? Ya shoulda let me know you were around, I didn't go much today. Some homework, went to Borders, and drove to Cheba Hut on the hill for some grub. The canyon is so much fun to drive. I haven't done it yet in the BMW, but the Subaru tore it up.
The cyclists are a nuisnace... BUT, you gotta get used to em. Boulder is extremely ped-friendly and enforces accordingly... Bad shit.

no falls, i didn't go very far, i was just doing some exploring.
i was thinking us Colorado folks should have a drive through there and maybe a photo shoot or something, maybe i'll start something in the regional forum...
I'm pretty much down for whatever. As long as I can make it. We need to plan something for after David gets back from Germany though.

I know it was said, but PLEASE spend 15 min asap to paint your rockers and rear valance. Seriously, 5 min to tape/mask, 5 min to paint two coats, and 5 min to slap yourself for putting it off for so long.
I am contemplating on how to paint the rockers, whether i should just tape off and paint, or whether i should strip the old rubber down to metal, and what i should do about the rust hole forming under the battery, whether i should paint over that temporarily or whether i should go all out and cut the rusted metal out and weld new metal in.
Take the time and do it right the first time. Why fix something twice?
exactly my point. That is why the 15 minute idea presented by BrewCity may not be the best approach, because if i am to paint the rockers, i ought to make sure all rust is permanently eradicated, and that will take hours, not to mention i don't know how to weld, i don't own a welder, and i have no idea where to get sheet steel from.
So this keeps me from slapping on a layer of paint really quick, knowing that later i will have to strip it off again when i do the rust repair.
I was a certified tig welder before I became a full time student.... I dunno how much help I could be since I don't have my own machines, but I could maybe help?
I'd like to hear some suggestions for painting the rockers too. Mine aren't rusting, but they have tar and crap all over em that's been kicked up by the wheels.

i can paint and do bodywork, i just never learned how to weld. I do know a guy that has a welder nearby so i could use his, but to be honest, at the moment i am still wrestling with the cooling system, because my car is STILL overheating. And it is really pissing me off, but that is another thread.
