What i don't see on the box is labeling ie Do Not Crush or Stack on Top Fragile

Labels while may seem inconsequential will give you some thing to fall back upon when a shipper says no I won't pay out for insurance claims.

Sad to see, maybe after you stick numerous hours of your day into FedEx will own up to it.

I once shipped a dash via UPS, and it got damaged as well. UPS didn't honor the insurance either. I since then never ship anything via UPS, so far Fedex has been ok.

My concern is, if it wasn't UPS or Fedex going the packaging they can deny the claim easier and use the "it was not packaged enough" excuse.

      Good luck!

It's not like Fed-Ex doesn't have the money to repay you. Keep at it. They damaged your stuff, you shouldn't have to pay for their Stupidity. That's Money out of your Pocket because of some asshole-High-School-Dropout's failure to pack a box in a truck correctly.

Dude you cant take it to heart that your package got smashed just go through with all the proper steps and get your money out of them, they will pay. I cant really speak for fed ex but I do work for UPS. I started as a truck loader part time and the one thing I didnt realize before I started was the volume of packages that go through this one building. When I loaded on my normal station there would be four trucks with 2 to 3 hundred packages each. thats 800-1200 boxes to load into four trucks in less than a five hour period(supposedly that was a slow station too).Thats just one loading station we have over 50 in the hub thats more than 200 trucks leaving for deliveries in one day. 200 trucks with close to 200 boxes thats 40,000 packages being delivered in one day. We try not to fuck shit up there man really, but everything is running on conveyor belts so you really cant stop. I cant speak for anyone else in the UPS but I dont just smash boxes for fun, to be honest 9 times outta 10 they were just a fucked up when I recieved them as when I put them on the truck. Sorry to ramble I just hate hearing people talk shit about something when you truly have no idea.

Now after reading the last five pages that sucks that they wont honor your claim. I was getting a diff through ups that got smashed, I never even saw the fucker they sent me a check and the shipper a check and a smashed diff.

After talking to 8 different people and a supervisor over the phone, I finally got shit resolved. I sent proper documentation and got my family attorney involved who made things 100 times easier. Every single person I talked to would tell me different bologna. I finally got fed up and asked for a supervisor. Vlad is suppose to give me an invoice of the value and a signed waiver so I can handle the claim. After that, the supervisor said he'll cut me a check. So really, I'm just waitin at this point.

spoke with fedex, they are faxing me the forms, looks like they are willing to pay, really don't see how they would not pay when the bumper was in the OEM bumper box, wrapped and packaged x2, we have pics of the box undamaged at their receiving fascility and we had insurance on it... stupid red tape time wasting bureaucrats

Good stuff man. I got burnt by couriers a few times but thankfully the items were cheap and so was the lesson. I ordered a replacement part and the UPS driver knew me well by then, delivered dozens of things to me. I whined to him when he delivered, he's like next time, look over the box very carefully and if it looks like it's been kicked around, just give it back to me. If you sign and accept it, you'll likely not get any reimbursement because they can always claim that you damaged it after you got it. I looked over the box and it was damaged again... I opened it and the part was crushed again, so I'm like well then take it back. The dude smiled and said "there ya go". They paid the seller the insured value, who then sent me another copy of the part, which arrived with the box looking untouched.

So moral of the story, when your box arrives, don't get giddy over it and don't sign shit. If it looks like it's been kicked around, open it infront of the driver, and if your stuff is damaged, give it back to him. If someone's signing for your package when you're away, make sure they know to do this, and what to look for.
