Putting on my Flame suit MY E30

Well I figured its only fair to show everyone my E30 project since I've been using this site for valuable information. Some will approve some wont, I'm ready for ya LOL. My back ground started with VW's Ive owned raced them since the age of 16, I still currently own a dedicated FWD drag GTI. I got involved in the DSM comunity because my closest drag racing freinds all have them. So naturally hanging around them Ive come to respect the potential of the 4G63 engine.
I was at the point where I wanted to build a RWD and my 2 odd tastes came togeather German engineering meet Japanese performance. I give you the BMW 4G63 its not the first one ever done but it is unique comepared to ones of the past. Its the only one backed by a transmission that will support the power of the 4G63. It also is the only one I know of built to support our goal of 500+ HP.

    ENJOY

I must say I like it. I used to own a 93 talon tsi and somedays I miss it.....especially in the snow. They are great engines with huge potential, especially the older 6 bolt. Nice build! :)

Nice, I used to have a 91 TSi AWD, and have thought about doing that swap. What transmission are you running? Do you know what the weight difference is between the M20 six and the 4g63?

Am I the only one here that had to google DSM to find out what it means?

Sorry for my ignorance, but I know as much about Japanese cars as Obama knows about a balanced budget. They've just never really interested me. I'm a BMW and Porsche guy. I look at the JDM thread every now and then and just scratch my head. Subaru STI's and old Datsuns are the only ones that even remotely intrigue me. To each their own though. As a machinist, I definitely have respect for the time and effort that goes into doing something like this.

are you using tranny out of a mighty max?

I like your setup and I like how much space you have around that engine.
