        Depending on the stretch they should look very similar. But the sidewalls are almost identical height.
        1010 tire's calculator says there is a 20mm difference.

          205/45/16 = 406.4mm + (2x 92.25mm) = 590.9mm Tall

          225/40/16 = 406.4mm + (2x 90mm) = 586.4mm Tall

          406.4mm = 16" diameter wheel
          92.25mm = sidewall height of 205/45 tire
          90mm = sidewall height of 225/40 tire.

          I use http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp. I also just use basic math.

                        if you like to stretch then sure.
                        for 16x8 i would think you would want to run something like 225/50/16 or for more beef 235/505/16
