Ken Rockwell is a fucking idiot.

A lot of people say this but I actually find his reviews to be pretty helpful. Sure his style of photography isn't for everyone but his product reviews are usually pretty accurate for what the general consumer will ever notice. Also he goes over settings and set up which is helpful.

OP:

IF you want to post pictures and get CC then go to a photog forum or at least go into a photog sub forum.

If you're too lazy to switch some dials on your camera then you're not going to get into photography. Like anything it takes a lot of work, practice, and learning. A simple crash course isn't what it takes.

Yeah, don't take everything he says as law, but he was a good starting spot for me... definitely helped me with some gear decisions at least. I put that link there as a light reference, as I know there is quite a bit of love/hate thing going on with him on the internetzes.
