    Progress Is Finally Made - 1988 325iS

Finally I have shocks, springs and wheels installed. Some of the maintenance items have been knocked out as well. Installed IE Stage 3 springs, Bilstein sports, tie rod assemblies and wheel bearings. Wheels are 16x8 et20 w/ 225.45.16 KDW2 tires. Less obvious mods so far are HIDs, Yellow Fogs/Highs, Euro Grills, Blacked out kidneys and some interior euro goodies.

Still have a bunch waiting to be installed and should be doing most this weekend. UUC Swaybars, Ireland Engineering Strut/Shock Tower Brace F/R, full brakes, exhaust system, short shifter, plastic bumpers and a full stereo.

I know the front needs to come down. Hoping the Ireland Engineering Stage 3 Springs will settle a bit more or I may see if there are thinner spring perch/mounts. OEM ones look pretty thick. I REALLY like how it rides and handles with the current setup so hoping with some minor tweaks I can bring it down just a bit!

Apparently you can cut a dead coil? Anyone done this? I know it won't change the rate but how much lower is it going to make it? Maybe just take out 1/2 a coil... pics?

Plastic bumpers are in the garage :) This weekend should be switched up.

Basic flat roll. Fits like a damn glove! Perfect. No rubbing driving around. Haven't REALLY beat on it but I don't see how there could be any issue.

I approve of this. Really needs more drop in the front.

Thanks. I think this is the route I will go as it can be done on car quickly and with little mess.

                      i love 88's its like bmw's hermaphrodite.

I'm not sure we can just cut 1/2 coils on our spring set ups, because of the way they sit. Idk i havent looked at it since i cut a coil, not really noticable. ive been saving for coil overs.

Lookin' good so far. Is that just a yellow bulb in the high beams? I wanted to french my highs with LaminX but that looks a little more subtle. I like it a lot.

It is possible. I looked at it but just haven't done it.

Sure I may 'want' coilovers but I really like how this rides and handles as it sits. So just want to bring the front down a touch. Coilovers can be had at any point really.
