GC sells complete coilovers with custom Konis, and a coilover "kit" that's basically threaded adjuster collars, springs and perches that you modify your stock strut casings for. So, you can run any struts with the GC kit.paint sucksComment

Agreed, but there is more then a $250 difference between $850 and $1500. Then add another $190 if you want them to shorten the strut for you.Hmmm, Sounds like you should have bought the ground control kit.

I saw multiple pics online that I liked how IE3 and Bilstein looked. In the real world and on car my results were not the same. Maybe they didn't mention they had camber plates or didn't mention they cut a dead coil. I don't know.
Live and learn.
My total cost is still under the GC kit. To be honest with the revalve of the bilsteins after talking with Bilstein directly will work just as well.

They don't need to be adjustable. If you know your spring spring rate, know the rate when compressed, know the spring rate at the wheel you can setup the shock for that setup. That is what Bilstein does via their rebuild/revalve service.
I will of course have my guy corner weight/balance the car. I need the parts installed and my sway bars on. Then get it all done at once. I know all about that.

I was directing that at White since he said you should have just bought new. When it's not even close. $850 is good price for a used coilover setup.
Of course Bilstein is going to say there stuff will work as well, what did you think they would say. "Yeah, we can revalve them, but you know, short body Koni's are really a better to keep your travel and add adjustability."Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

that's a rough adjustment, that can still be tweaked depending on conditions and track with an adjustable setup. GC Koni's are also custom valved based on the rates you select but you can still adjust rebound. I typically set it up and don't touch it all weekend but it's nice to know you can.Comment

What rates and spring sizes will you be running?Comment

Are they really? I was under the impression that GC Konis were simply a different rate than standard konis, but not specific to the spring rate selected.that's a rough adjustment, that can still be tweaked depending on conditions and track with an adjustable setup. I understand this and while it would be nice to have the Bilstein is really a better shock(in my experience and opinion). Yes it lacks the adjustment but honestly I don't have the knowledge to tweak at the track. I want it setup and done and I will adjust as the driver. I had a great experience with my shortened and revalved Bilstein sports on the M3 and I will do the same again. I loved the way that car handled.that's a rough adjustment, that can still be tweaked depending on conditions and track with an adjustable setup. In the end if it sucks horribly I will switch it up. Honestly I enjoy the build, tuning and modding than the actual finished product.
I think I will end up with 550/750(maybe 800ish)
I believe GC can spec the Koni. I am not 100% sure. Regardless I am going with what I want. The road to get there I may have taken the wrong turn but I will get there :)
