that was one of those things that we didnt worry about too much, it may look a little weird, but it works, and now my rear shocks are more accesable than yours :DOriginally posted by grapedrinkDid you try and work out a way to cover over the top of the shock and not come out with anything or is that just another project? Just seems awkard to me.Comment

i have already been planning to paint it a mat black, identical to the e28 m5, it will happen just as soon as my dad finds exactly what they used for the bumpar, anyone on here know by chance? im not asking if its paint, but like what paint exactly, and it could also be a type of tape or something im not sure, any help?Originally posted by kansas-ixpaint rear diving board then.
also, a normal black rubber trim is going back on the bumper, the trim was painted by mistake, on the rear, the front was on purposeComment

I would use SEM trim paint, it will match the rest of the trim on the car (er truck) and being on the back you won't have to worry about rock chips.Originally posted by jgentilei have already been planning to paint it a mat black, identical to the e28 m5, it will happen just as soon as my dad finds exactly what they used for the bumpar, anyone on here know by chance? im not asking if its paint, but like what paint exactly, and it could also be a type of tape or something im not sure, any help?Originally posted by kansas-ixpaint rear diving board then.

Tyler and I were at your dad's shop until 7:00 tonight working on his motor. I was hoping you guys might stop by so I could see the truck in person. We'll be back at the shop this weekend, let's try to meet up then.Originally posted by Giorgionope, sorry JasonComment

Bumping this thread...great to see you did it!
That was exactly what I was going to do for mine. As it turns out, I didn't end up needing a truck...but now that I see yours it's fresh in my mind again.
Unfortunately I just bought an '88 325iS to turn into a stroker club racer  ...that'll be my big project for the next six months.
Does your dad have any experience building strokers? I'm going to need some things to be done by a pro.
I'd like to check it out soon, too...
