Damn I missed drifting. Two events in one day. Only got that picture right now from that event, but I got some video footage I'll post up of a little fun at the skid pad practice we hit up after the Speedway. :)
Unfortunately there wasn't a whole hell of media at Homestead-Miami Speedway. That's really the only action shot that I found and I don't think there'll be a lot more. We had our schedules mixed up, and while I thought I had two hours to solve a small leak in the T-Stat housing, we only had 15 minutes before we went on track, so in the rush to finish it, we never set up the camcorders to record.
Since we were done early, we all decided to crash the local skidpad practice (where anyone can go practice and learn in an open field). I had my buddy record some runs, which I'm editing right now. There were more e30s too, and I'm putting them in there.
New stuff starts with a new windshield banner:
Also finally managed to put in the M5 clutch/flywheel combo and bumped the rear gears from my panda's 3.25 welded to a factory 3.73 lsd. Also got a new SPAL fan, although I'm having my own issues with overheating that I have yet to understand
But the rev/gearing difference is phenomenal. I'm sure that with a chip I'll be set on power, and I'll have some cheat juice on the gas pedal if some high hp jap car gets frisky ;) I might be able to go without boost on this one to keep reliability up.
Since I went back to school to finish my Bachelor's, + moving out (work/rent/bills), etc... I really got held back with the car, and it took me 6 months to get the parts and get it back on the road. Now with a month off school, I should be able to do a bit more on it.
Anywho, back to the video to see if I can get this posted up before passing out.
more vids pls! haha. dude, your angles are sicker with that m30 e30 and it appears that you can initiate much earlier and hold on to it the entire way, very nice!
btw, who is that gold boosted e30? more specs of his car pls :) specifically, turbo setup and type of wheels. thanks in advance.
that gold E30 has an ssqv. Way to go JDM and cop out... lol.
PS: I know ive asked before but whats your suspension setup? What kinda bushings and stuff do you use? I can't seem to get my car as stable even with huge spring rates.
Looks like alot of fun. Your car sounds horrible, but function over vanity I completly understand. Are you planning on a different exhaust?

Yes, I have it sitting in storage already. I'm just waiting until my buddy has a minute to weld it in for me. I don't like the sound at all. Maybe at high rpms it actually gives that nice "raw" sound to it, but anything but that it's just obnoxious. (As opposed to kinda cool and obnoxious)

He is the person behind most of the drift events in South Florida. He's got Diamond Racing wheels, but I cannot recall the full turbo setup. I know he was sponsored for the turbo, but cannot remember which company it was through.
Yeah, the M30 really comes together with torque. It's surprising how I have no horsepower at all, yet the torque seems to always pull through when I put my foot down to keep the tires spinning. It's a shame I don't have videos from Homestead to show, but with the 3.73, I had to go only in 3rd gear (as opposed to only 2nd), going much faster than I would do it in the old panda, and even still, the M30 spins 215s like it's all good.

Tim is all about JDM, he's always been.
As for shoes, post M30 I am rocking GCs 650f/950r with custom-valved Koni Yellows, ST Sways 22f/19r, IE 75D Poly subframe bushings, 70D (I think?) T/A bushings, and AKG 75D front CABs.

Glad to see you're back in action. I'd like to come check out an event if there are plans for any on the FL west coast.
There's a 2 day drift event on the first weekend of the year at Charlotte County Speedway. I just heard about it and will look for more details. I'm assuming I'll have the weekend off, so if I can sell some stuff I will make the drive.

lol! does he have a thread for it? as much as it would be sacrilegious, the power that shit was pushing appeared to be consistent. the only inconsistent is the driver, but i can see him get better.
my suspensions: (bought it from jesse30)
- 550f/650r eibach race and front adjustable coilovers (I.E.)
- koni yellows all around - stiff front setting and medium soft in rear
- adjustable front camber kit (i forgot who made them)
- welded 3.73 diff
- I.E. urethane bushings everywhere lol
- I.E. 25mm front and 22mm rear sway bars
do you have sway bars installed? that'll really help.
