Cheaper, yes. It comes down to how much you value your time. I've posted the steps on how I make them a few times. On top of the sanding and painting I do, they are clearcoated And buffed by my autobody guy.

I saw a set when I was in NJ, actually the set I was going to buy until we decided the all red tails looked good on my car. Although now I'm having second thoughts!

That's funny, I smoked my own headlights too! Except mine look good and it doesn't change the light output.

didnt change the output of my high beams either. i also smoked my old taillights

Guten did a good job with the lights but I still prefer MHW's. I don't like the "candy" look to them. They look good on the red car though. You guys should switch lights just for fun.
