Is "more or less" an adequate answer? For the most part they are, yes. There is some modification to the headlight "bucket" itself. I drilled a 7/8's hole into the back as a pass through for the supplied wires and rubber gromet/boot. The HID bulb itself fits very nicely, but it is a bit tight under the cap with the bulb, wires to bulb and wires to body harness.
I have fairly bad night eye sight due to a left eye injury back when I was 17 so, the HID's are VERY nice at night. I've been flashed once after properly aiming them but I was on a slightly higher plain than the other driver and I can totally see where they where all up in his face. Other than that once, I can see very, very well and it's more than an improvement over the stock sealed beams. The standard H1 bulb that were in the "Smileys" prior to the HID instal where, I'd say approx. 20-30% brighter over sealed beam and the HID's are roughly 35% brighter than the H1's. Very clear, very bright and very white, despite the blue'ish color at the lense. I can't say enough good about it. And http://www.ddmtuning.com/ was spectacular in price and customer service. It was grand total of $55.67 for the 55w, 6000k Slim HID kit.Need a part? PM me.

got any shots of the entire car?
I wouldn't call it a "beater" :nice: But I'd suggest picking one up if you can, man. I miss the hell out of my 272 Schrick cammed, chipped, coil overed '88 325is, but with how low I ran daily and the cold start issues, I can't say enough for just being able to get in, mob around and not really worry much. Not to mention the 30mpg in stark contrast to the 14mpg I had in the "fast" car. Besides, that's what a project car is for...Need a part? PM me.

To be honest, I'm not positive. If the 9006 HID bulb is shorter than the H1 bulb, I can see it being plug and play. Also, if your car came stock with Ellipsoids, I imagine it being words easier. I had sealed beams originally and upgraded to the Euro Smiley's, so there was already some splicing involved. The kit itself was amazingly well made and very straight forward. Even with having to drill a hole into the back of the headlight bucket, it was a 20-45 minute job start to finish.Need a part? PM me.

55w for me. The HID bulbs themselves already burn cooler and I've had no issues what so ever. The 55w kit is also 30% brighter according to DDM's website. Always nice to have brighter lights.Need a part? PM me.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Thanks guys ;)
I wasn't really a fan of Alpineweiss until I owned one, to be honest. Or white cars in general, but I'm becoming quite a fan of the color combo.Need a part? PM me.

Here's some more shots of the entire car I snapped today. A bit sketchy on space in the driveway as my wife's expecting her 5 sisters, 2 cousins and one of the cousins twins to see our 3 month old...
Some interior shots... it still needs a good thorough cleaning, so you guys only get the decent shots ;)
Here's two of the fender arches up close to show off the pulled awesome-ness...

Rear:
Here's the little guy at around 2 months:
Thanks again for the comments and appreciation. I've still got to fix the front valance up a bit on the drivers side. As the pictures show there's a substantial dent and the lip doesn't quite line up right. Bugs the crap out of me. Also, the drivers side shadow line trim is getting a few touch up's as we speak in the garage, so that'll get put back on.
You'll also notice there's a lack of passenger side shots. Due primarily to the fact that I'm rocking a singular bottle cap that's in dire need of a refinishing. Still figuring out one retarded spacers for the Rota GT3's. Not my favorite rim, but the wife loves 'em because they where free. After the tax return comes, hopefully I can convince her to let me "invest" in some better rims
P.S.
Yes, that's a lighted shift knob. Yes, it was over priced. Yes, it was worth it.Last edited by ck_taft325is; 01-23-2010, 03:17 PM.Need a part? PM me.
