Euro 635csi new project or partout?

**NEW PICS AND INFO ON PAGE 2 AND 3***

So today i picked up a new possible project. its a 1980 635csi gray market car. its got a bent nose and its a crank-no start, been sitting for 2 years. i didnt have time to look it over today so i dont know how rusty it is or if its worthy of being fixed or parted. it has 166k on the odometer, recaros, and a crack in the windshield. sadly the car has an automatic tranny so i think i will get it running then decide what to do. the interior is filthy but looks to be in decent shape. cleaned up it might be an ok car. i will post more pics with progress. i have more projects than i need right now but it was the right price, we shall see...

    WOW.

You're seeing a diamond in the rough that I'm just... not seeing. Good luck and I'll keep an eye out for updates. What exactly does "Grey market" mean? That's probably a retarded question, but I was under the assumption that it generally means something to do with being a Euro model? Why the US spec M30?

I had/have a 1973 Mercedes 480 SEL that looked like hell when I first got it. These old German cars, man, they shine up ;) Good luck again!

    *Edit*

The pillow was free I hope?

It is a euro model. and that is what "gray market" means that it is a car intended for the euro market but in the states. Im sure the US m30 engine was swapped when the m90 gave up. This is no diamond in the rough, i never implied that. i part out bmws on the regular and i paid for this one what i could sell a bumper for. just might end up being a cheap driver/seller.

Wasn't trying to come off as a dick. I mean to say that it looks pretty rough right now ;) A good wash will do wonders...

24 hours of LeMons, or part it out.

That is a nice car. Don't part it out, restore it.

Part it out so other cars can live.

No early 1980 grey market car should be parted. If you have room for it, keep it and fix it when you have time. Replace the nose panel, swap the tranny for a 5 speed, or the engine (S38). Car has a rare Recaro interior (not lesser BMW sport seats). The rear seats might have mildew, but they can be saved.

The big Coupes are becoming as much classics as the 3.0 CS. Think about it...
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

+1. I think it could be saved, but it would take a lot of time and effort. The recaro interior is a big plus, though.

Save it. Fix it up and drive it. Wish I could see it in person.
