    My 325ixE30

I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS DAMN UNDER CONSTRUCTION SIGN OFF MY SIG!!!!

This is the story of my iX. Her name is Alex by the way! So I picked up Alex in the beginning of November of this year and she ran AMAZING for 3 weeks. This is one of the best condition iXs Iv ever seen!

So I was driving back to from dropping off my girlfriend and Alex decided to throw a bearing! I was really close to my buddies house so I went to his house to take a look to see what happened because at the time I didn’t know it was the bearing. When I got to his house his neighbor is a mechanic and said it was just a broken rocker arm and I could drive it home. (WRONG) I only live about 10 miles from there so I headed home. I made it about half way and she shuttered spit and shit. Pulled off to the side of the road and called AAA. Got her home and discovered that she threw a rod thru the strongest part of the block!

That’s when the reconstruction starts! There was a lot of Ideas floating around on what to do. ( Just do a 24V swap, Stroker the M20, Find a new bottom end and rebuild it, or just buy a new complete iX M20)
Finally decided to find a new bottom end and get a complete rebuild done. Balanced, ported, Blue printed the works. I found a new lower end from Joe Funk. Thank you Joe!
That was deiced in the beginning of January so the motor has been sitting at the engine rebuilding shop since the beginning of December. I have been calling this dude every week for the last two months. He is the flakiest dude I have ever worked with. I call him he is with a customer leave a message he never calls back. I keep asking for a time line on when it’s going to get done. He’s missed two already. Its getting quite ridiculous and Im getting pretty pissed off. So I talked to him on Monday and he said it will be done mid march. ANOTHER FUCKING month.

    As she sit now

Sooo in the mean time I have been acquiring MANY upgrades that I cannot wait to put on! Euro Smileys, Intensive Wash system, HIDs for FOG and LOWs, Rally kit. That’s not even half the list.

    I will keep you posted

How exactly does one 24V a 325ix? I thought there was some reason 24V motors wouldn't just drop in, since the regular ix block is functionally different from regular M20 blocks.

You have to weld part of the iX oilpan onto the E34 oilpan.

I think its five or six but this one should stick. I had a talk with a mod.

But the car is still a work in progress.
