    New here...pics

    Hey all
Just got my E30 about 2 months ago. I'm pretty active on BF but I thought I should share with you losers too :p

The vehicle in question, 1987 325i sedan:

I bought it from a r3v member. Some of you Atlanta members may recognize it... The paint is a total writeoff, I'm 90% sure it was a rollon job. The shit comes off with masking tape...:???:

BUT she's a hell of a runner. It's running a basic 2.7i build (885 head straight onto eta block) rebuilt 7000 miles ago and, contrary to what everyone says about this particular setup, it pulls great. I get 0-60's in roughly 7.4 seconds, and that's with a 2.93 LSD. Great highway mileage as well.

Unfortunately although the PO did a great job with the engine, he completely neglected to even look at the rest of the car, so the suspension and brakes leave a lot to be desired... But that's what summer's for. ;) I've already got Bilstein sports in there with an Eibach/H&R combo. All that's left to do with the suspension is tie rod ends and control arms. As for the brakes, I'm in need of a new master cylinder, pads, rotors, probably a booster... But it's all worth it. It's a labor of love :D

    Tentative future mods list:
    Shrick 288 cam
    19 lb injectors
    SETA pistons
    PAINTJOB
    Bigger AFM

        ^ Welcome :)

The wheels are Rotas, Grid Drift I think they're called... Frankly I'm not sure on the offset or the tire specs. I'll take a look and let you know when it's light out.

Looking good with the rims! So you're enjoying the 2.7i setup w/885 head on an ETA block? See, I've got a block and an 885 head sitting around but haven't really had the motivation to piece together a spare "stroker" engine yet...

... Don't you sometimes hate PO paint jobs?? Mine looked GREAT for about 6 months. Plenty of gloss and consistent color. Then out of no where I'm noticing all these little flakes chipping off. Really pissed me off for 5 minutes or so while I tore around my garage raging. Then I decided fuck it! I'll drive it until it flakes off and then have it sprayed at Maaco with Drab olive green ;)

Keep us updated on the progress and if you need any random bits and pieces, I've got a bunch of spare parts.
            Need a part? PM me.

Hey did you have to machine the wheels to fit?

When we tried some of the 16x8 +10's it hit the caliper on the front brakes due to the oversized hub portion of the wheel

                      Looks great either way

btw, they are only called grid drift outside of the US

In the US they are called the Grid Off-Road because the mold was initially made for trucks, but then as per some dealers requests, they fabricated the center adapter to allow for drilling in 5x114.3, 4x114.3, and 4x100

It started when they were in stock in 5x114.3 for tacomas, people ended up buying them and putting them on their 5 lug 240SX's, then the 4x114.3 240SX's ended up doing a group buy for them and that's when they first got made in 4x114.3

Then more recently they started becoming available in 4x100, however when I tested them on an E30, they didn't clear the calipers due to the center PCD area being too wide, which is why I am curious as to how you fit them

perhaps they are the older +20 version and not the +10 version?
