from slowwww to gooooo! my first e30 project

i got this car for free.. it was given to me by my dad's friend....
it was a beat up m10 that had seem better days..
    the start:

the interior =] its in good shape

    good bye m10

    new motor =]]]

    new motor in=]

    radiator

    rear strut bar

finished product... (half ass if only the cons were done with)
Thats most of the pictures I took.. Most of the time i saw working on it and didn't really have the chance to take pics.
I installed a z4 short shifter.... i needed an adapter which i got from gregslow318i (great guy.. awesome work)..

pros: -I've learned a ton for my first time working on a bimmer.
-the m42 was bored to a 2.0 and cammed, and has the m20 flywheel conversion....
    with dinan chip from TNG's.
-the car is fasstter than my m10.

cons: z4 shifter hits the drive shaft:hitler: The only gears it doesnt hit is 2nd and 4th. FIXED!
the idle goes up to 1000 normally and the goes up and down from 900 to 1200 rpm :hitler:FIXED
my whole car has the "shakes" i dont know why it does that.... LIVE WITH..=]

future: ie3's billies or koni yellows, speakers , and the list never ends=]

I do not understand why you swapped to an m42? Why not m50?

That's really cool that you stuck with the 4 cylinder.

            Nice work!

Ive always wanted to build one of those.
Trash my shitty 318is shell and put everything in a clean early model

              Good luck with it
What do you mean my the shakes?

What's up neighbor? :) My car does the same thing when I first start the car in the morning before settling down. I've been trying to find the source of the vacuum leak somewhere but so far no luck. Nice project.

Grab a can of carb cleaner and spray over your vacuum lines. When your idle bumps up, inspect where you were spraying...should be pretty close to finding your leak. I had one where a hose was torn underneath a hose clamp, so wiggle and prod around a bit.
