finished the m42 swap finally finished! getting ready for bimmerfest!!

my cams were all torn up due to clogged oil journals, and all of my oil seals were blown...i think this was due to a shitty rebuild...so i just decided to replace everything!

swap took a while because i was working full time, then got her finished, still had a couple loose ends to tie up wen school started and i couldnt afford insurance, so im just getting around to the loose ends.

Figured out that my starting/idling/cold issue was the afm (typical) and now we are back in business!

ive been riding the motorcycle for a while and look forward to getting back behind the wheel of some german engineering, especially just in time for bimmerfest!

    pics, enjoy:

get this hunk of junk out of here!!

so i bought this for $900 to tide me over until the car was done :) ('91 fzr1000)

I'd never have gotten a motorcycle in the middle of an engine swap (especially a liter bike), when you go back it won't impress you at all.

Then again, I guess it's an M42 anyway...

yeah i thought that, but the bike is so much faster, i couldnt even compare the two in my head. different kinds of "fast"

Same, I want an M42 E30. Better yet, I want to put one in an E21 and do the DASC kit on it. ;)

A big ole plus one on this one. I've got my old M42 sitting on a stand ready for rebuild and an e21 dying to have its m10 transplanted.
