    might be getting a 1988 320i on the weekend (: first car yee
    reckon its worth it or not aye easy performance upgrades for it?

    Suspension. IMO don't mod a 2.0L M20 it's not worth the hassle either do an engine swap or just enjoy it how the car is. 2.0l's were not fuel efficient and were not quick at taking mods to increase hp unless you go with FI.

      with a 2l m20 you might as well just slam it and put some nice wheels on, don't go for hp

        ahh true aye
        if im correct the same engine is in the 325i?
        but has bigger bore/stroke
        can i just bore the 2.0L out and make it a 2.5L
        need new intake and all that shizzle

          you can buy an M20 from a 325i for much less hassle and not very much money.

            i thought the 320i was called the "italian m3" or was that just for 320is in italy?

            anyway, a full m20 is not more than a few hundred bucks. (here in the states anyway.)

              That is a 320iS and was available in Portugal, Italy and Spain to get around the tax issue on displacments above 1998cc engines.

              M20b20 came in 3 variants the early jetronic vs found in E21's and then the early motronic with a distrubuter then Montronic 1.3.
