Not that I've seen. I haven't seen anybody driving any around and I had to go all the way to Aiken just to get this one (3.5 hours away).

I'll check the other VIN locations when I get it back from the shop, thanks guys :)

My wife and I will be in Myrtle Beach the third week of June. We stay on Sunset Beach close to Calabash. I'm driving my '91 vert.

Balls, this probably explains why the euro trim panel I got for between the rear tails doesn't look like it's the right size. I'm assuming the '88s had smaller tails?

                That is correct.

Just to take it to a new level of strange, it was titled as an '88 too, and the VIN on the dash matched the VIN on the title.

The shop is supposed to be calling me back soon with respect to whether the VIN on the firewall matches the VIN on the dash.

Maybe it's a culmination of 2 parts cars?

Yeah I had immediately wanted to change the color (my last 2 cars have been red, I'm burnt out), but it's really growing on me.

Last shot till suspension and a vinyl wrap :D

I also decided to test to see whether my Whalen Shift Machine from my MINI would retrofit into the e30... it does.

I also checked all the VIN locations, and they all match, so either this is a thorough re-vin or it's really an '88.

everything about your car says '92 to me, I've had 2 '91 verts and an '89 all had dive boards, but the '91's had airbags, you have the late style sedan taillights which would have only been on a '92, a weird year for the verts, kinda like the factory culled all their leftover parts together and pieced together all the leftover '91 coupes and put convertible tops in them while the new sedans and coupes for '92 were the e36. IMO yours should be a pretty rare unit next to mtec's. Salvaged and rebuilder cars are everywhere, your car could have even had a lost title or an insurance claim on a stolen, in that case slap on a vin from a good wreck with a clean title and pow no more title issues.
