New member checking in... '86 325e

Hey everyone, forget about my lame username haha, my name is Justin and this is my first car. Originally I wasnt really looking for an E30, although I knew little about them, I always thought they were awesome cars. Im pretty much a rookie when it comes to working on cars in general. Im also still reading up on E30s, so dont mind me and my lack of knowledge for them.

anyway.... 1986 325e, 198k mi, 5 speed, 3:73 posi, clean interior, got it for 1400 this past weekend. I thought I got an alright deal.

Here are my plans for now

-fix the minor surface rust spots
-possibly repainting the plastic bumper parts
    -remove black paint off wheels
-fix the passenger windows (fuse is blown i think)
    -new antenna
-repaint trunk/fenders or just whole car, im unsure right now.

also the coolant light is showing up on the check panel so I have to see whats up with that.

on to the pics (ill post more of the interior tomorrow)

Ill try to get some "legit" pictures when i get it registered.

also does anyone know the exact color of my car? the parts that i know arent the original color are the fenders and the trunk obviously.

If the coolant light is on the "check panel", its probably the sensor in the expansion tank.

Coolant light level on check panel is the sensor in the expansion tank like the guy above said. The float on it gets water logged from being in water for 20-25 years and loses it's buoyancy. I got two of them from a junkyard and neither worked so I just zip tied the old one up. You can buy a new one but they're expensive.
WTB late model, anywhere on the east coast will go as far west as Texas for the right car at the right price. 5 speed 6cyl only.

Welcome, I think you over paid. to be honest she is not bad. How is the underside rust?

Your pictures reminded me of how much I HATE the dives. So glad I tucked them, also glad I bought plastics for my build e30.
